Volunteer
The Vale Hub and Pantry area are only able to run thanks to our amazing volunteers, many of whom help us simply because we have been able to help them in the past. For some, this may well be their first step back into employment; some find helping us and being part of a great team with lots of friendship and humour helps mental health. Others simply have time on their hands and want to be involved. All in all, we are a happy bunch – no one day is the same, the families coming in are pleased to see us, and we love talking, helping, and generally making a great difference!
We have a whole host of volunteering opportunities that include:
- Helping in our Food Pantry area
- Helping to keep shelves stocked
- Working in our Kitchen or Café
- Helping with Cookery hands in classes for adults, and in the school holidays for children
- Serving in our Café area
- Helping people complete forms for benefits and statutory agencies when needed
- Working with parents and young children in our Soft Play area
- Minding a child or children in our Hub whilst a parent talks to our Citizen’s Advisor or another form of help for a short while
- Helping with Budget Coaching
- Helping people navigate the online world with some digital inclusion assistance
- Helping to keep our areas tidy and clean
- Helping with our Breakfast Corner for children on their way to School
- Helping in our Homework drop-in area for youngsters after school
- Helping assist in the delivery of new service areas with training provided
The list is endless – but we can promise you great fun and a real feeling of doing something that matters!
